Day 2
Bangkok City Tour, The Grand Palace, Wat Phra Kaew, Wat Pho, Wat Traimit, Boat ride along The Chao Phraya River, Wat Arun
After a hearty breakfast, we begin a full-day exploration of Bangkok — the radiant City of Golden Temples.
Our first stop is the iconic Grand Palace, an expansive architectural marvel covering over two square kilometers. This historic complex, once the royal residence, now hosts the Kingdom’s most important ceremonial events. Within its walls lies Wat Phra Kaew, home to the revered Emerald Buddha. Built in 1785 by King Rama I, this temple stands as a masterpiece of Thai craftsmanship and spiritual heritage.
Next, we visit Wat Pho, the oldest and largest temple in Bangkok. Here, over a thousand Buddha images reside, including the awe-inspiring Reclining Buddha draped in gold. Wat Pho is also recognized as the birthplace of traditional Thai massage, where a renowned medical school continues to pass on ancient healing arts.
Our journey continues to Wat Traimit, famed for housing the world’s largest solid gold Buddha statue. This gleaming figure symbolizes purity, prosperity, and inner strength — revered qualities in Thai culture.
After a delicious lunch, we set off on a scenic boat ride along the Chao Phraya River, gliding past stilted homes, temples, and the daily life of riverbank communities.
We make a memorable stop at Wat Arun, the Temple of Dawn. Perched gracefully along the riverbank, Wat Arun dazzles with its towering spires adorned in shimmering glass and delicate Chinese porcelain — a unique contrast to Bangkok’s other temples.
As the day winds down, we return to the hotel. The evening is yours to enjoy at leisure — perhaps explore the vibrant night markets, savor street food, or simply soak in the atmosphere of Bangkok after dark.
